Day
One - London to a Berkshire village
40
miles (64km)
At a time to suit you make
your way to our riverside base near Waterloo station in the centre of London, which is open from
9.30 to 17.30 every day, to pick up your cycling equipment. Then hop on the nearby Thames boat to reach the start of Jerome's adventure and your days' cycling. Pedal in his reflection through history and tranquility to your overnight stop in a Berkshire village.
Day Two - Berkshire village to an Oxfordshire village
36
miles (58km)
Criss cross the river and its weirs as the Thames flows through Marlow and Henley. Take in water meadows, wildlife, forgotten rural scenes and waterside inns as you ride on to the rivers' dramatic cut through the Chiltern Hills. Your overnight stop is in a rustic inn at the heart of a Thames village. Jerome would have loved this!
Day Three -
Oxfordshire village to Oxford
30 miles (48 km)
Today's cycling takes you through the pretty villages and market towns of the dreamy Upper Thames. Many a famous tale has been dreamt here and time seems to have stood still. Follow the magic of the river to the heart of Oxford where you can hop on a train and return to London.
Do 3 days on a bike beat 3 men in a boat? Undoubtedly.
