We offer 4 gentle cycling holidays in Devon and 2 Not so gentle cycling holidays through some of the county’s most beautiful areas. The 2 night tour is almost totally traffic free with flexible distances making it a perfect choice for families. It allows plenty of time to explore Barnstaple before heading off along the River Torridge, on a disused railway line to Bideford and beyond.
The second day takes in the Taw Estuary and idyllic Saunton Sands. The 6 night tour takes you up onto Dartmoor and extends via Tavistock to the south coast at Plymouth with the Tarka Trail and Granite Way forming part of the route. The tour finale is a jolly by ferry to a clutch of Cornish seaside hamlets.
Itineraries are self-guided allowing you to travel at your own pace with leisurely cycling distances. There is a choice of accommodation with luxury hotels on our Luxury tours or bed and breakfast accommodation in hand picked inns, small hotels and private houses. Breakfast is included every day during the tour and dinner on specified days on our Luxury tours. Cycling routes are identical for both types of tour.
Our flexible itineraries allow additional days to include wind surfing, quad biking, sea kayaking, climbing, paragliding, diving and canoeing during or after your tour.
You will be provided with comfortable hybrid bikes, adjusted for you by your Capital Host who will brief you, share their local knowledge and look after you.
A luggage service is also included. As our tours are self guided you will receive a tour brochure, OS maps of the area with your route marked and easy to follow route directions.
